A good start…

We are now 22 days into the new year.  It seems like the days are flying by!  I wanted to share a couple of great things going on with my family lately as well as Treu Image!

So, first, my family is celebrating because we are moving into a new townhome soon!  After living with my amazing (and very generous :) parents for the last seven months, we are the proud renters of a two bedroom, one and a half bath townhome in Parker, CO!!  It’s in a great neighborhood, down the street from a fantastic park that I’m sure we’ll be at every day in the summer, and much closer to Branden’s work!  It’s a great fit for us right now and we are very very blessed!

Here’s a happy picture of my parents who have been so gracious to us :)  I know they’ve really enjoyed having the boys around, so I hope we’ve blessed them as much as they have us!

There are a few exciting things happening with Treu Image too!  This year we are a featured photography studio in theBump magazine, Denver edition!  theBump is a publication distributed to OB offices in Denver and the surrounding area.  Preggy patients receive a copy for free in their welcome kits!  You can find all the same great info on the web at www.thebump.com.  Check out Treu Image’s online profile here!

What we are most excited to offer expectant mommies is our Birth Story sessions, capturing your baby’s very first day, from labor and delivery to those first precious hours with those who welcome him into the world!!  If you’re interested in a Birth Story session, or have any questions, please give me a call!  I’d love to tell you more about it!  The number is (303) 358-9952

Okay, last but not least, Treu Image Photography is looking for our 2011 Senior Models! In return for representing Treu Image, models will receive a package valued at over $300, including a FREE session, plus the opportunity to earn additional rewards!! So if you’re getting ready to go into your senior year, or know someone who is, give us a call asap! Space is limited! ~ (303) 358-9952
Okay, I guess that’s it!  The year is off to a good start and we are so so very excited!!

Looking back

When J’s mom first asked me to do his senior pictures, she said she wanted images that captured his high school days, reflecting him and the things he did, the things he loved.  So on the day of our shoot, we took a trip to his high school in Elizabeth, CO and walked the campus.

From the baseball field and track where J would compete, to the lunch tables where he spends time with friends playing his guitar, I got a chance to capture him and listen as he and his mom told me stories from these last few years.  It’s amazing the things they both remembered, first games and dear friendships, even embarassing moments that can be looked back on now with a smile.

J’s mom, C, has two boys just like I do.  She assured me that what everyone says is really true, these precious years go by so quickly, and somehow you find yourself starting sentences with, “It feels like just yesterday…”

And I realized what senior pictures are really about.  Of course you want a nice portrait for the yearbook, but it’s more than that.  It’s being able to look at these images today, and tomorrow and years from now, and remember this sweet time in you life.  A time of learning and growing and building character, a time of preparing.  In a way, senior year is both an end and a beginning.  You’re saying goodbye to being a kid, and stepping forward to meet the future.

I’m excited for J.  He’s an amazing young man with big plans and an awesome family to help him find his way.  But for today, I hope he enjoys himself, drinking in these final days of high school, his senior year.

On her way…

I just did a session with E, who is smart, beautiful and on her way to great things!  We did her senior pictures at a location with a running creek, tall grasses, and even some huge fallen trees, and E did amazing.  I love it when someone is willing to try just about anything for a great picture, even wading through a cold creek!

Love this one of her.  Isn’t she gorgeous?  I asked E what she likes to do in her free time.  Her answer?  Learn how to fly!  Literally, time in the flight simulator!
I love candid images, catching someone’s personality when they’re just being themselves
And last, but not least, my fav, the sunburst!
Thanks for a great session E!  Have a great last year of high school; I can’t wait to see what you do next!
