mini vacation ~ part 2
Last week I posted about our little family getaway on Memorial Day weekend. On the last day, we took a hike before heading home. Living in Colorado is such a blessing, so many cool outdoorsy things to do as a family! I want to enjoy simple things together – hiking, nature, exploring are all on that list. And so we went!
The weather was perfect – a little sunshine, a little cloud cover. And the wildflowers were there to add some color to the trail.
These two are all boy – climbing, rock throwing, jumping, getting dirty – they love being outside. Also Ethan loves to pick flowers and give them to everyone 🙂
The trail we hiked was awesome! It was flat for the most part, which meant the boys could hike without much help. And the trail followed a stream that it crossed repeatedly, a fun feature for boys who like to get wet 🙂
Before heading back, we stopped and ate a picnic lunch. And of course, the boys wanted to get in the water and play!
And that’s about it! I asked a lady on the trail to snap a picture of the four of us.
The weekend was great, not just the stuff we got to do, but just being purposeful about spending time together (not something we think about as much as we should).
Psalm 90:12 says, “So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” This is a verse I want to live by daily.
